Ingredients to make Hayagreeva

  • Gram dal 1 cup
  • water 4 cup
  • jaggery 1 cup
  • Gram dal strained water 1 cup
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped dry coconut few
  • Grated coconut 1/4 cup
  • ghee 2 tsp

How to make Hayagreeva

  1. CLEANLY WASH A CUP OF GRAM DAL
  2. 4 CUP OF WATER, CLOSE THE LID AND COOK FOR 2 WHISTLES, IT SHOULDN'T BE MUSHY
  3. STRAIN IT COMPLETELY
  4. ADD 1 CUP OF JAGGERY, BOIL TILL IT GETS DISSOLVED
  5. STRAIN IT TO REMOVE THE IMPURITIES
  6. TRANSFER INTO SAME BOWL
  7. STIR OCCASIONALLY UNTIL THICKNESS
  8. 2 TSP OF GHEE
  9. CARDAMOM POWDER 1 TSP, SALT A PINCH
  10. COOKED GRAM DAL
  11. STIR TILL THICK AND ADD GRATED COCONUT
  12. GARNISH WITH CHOPPED DRY COCONUT, TURN OFF THE FLAME AND SERVE
