ABOUT Horse Gram Chutney RECIPE

Horse gram is a type of legume which is high in proteins and it can be added to our diet on a regular basis. I have read in a healthy magazine that regular intake helps to reduce cholesterol and lose weight. Hope you all love this easy and simple recipe which goes well with rice or porridge.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Horse Gram (Muthira) - 2 tbsp
  2. Dry Red Chilly - 6
  3. Urad dal - 1 tsp
  4. Garlic - 2
  5. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  6. Tamarind - a small piece
  7. Salt as per taste
  8. Curry leaves
  9. Grated coconut - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast horse gram till brown on low flame.Do not let it burn. Add dry red chilly, urad dal, mustard seeds to the pan and dry roast it.
  2. Grind the roasted items along with grated coconut,tamarind,salt and curry leaves. Add little water to it while grinding. It should be thick, not watery. Serve with rice or Porridge.
