About Jackfruit Curry Recipe

Jackfruit curry in chicken masala, to be served with some steamed rice on the side.

Jackfruit Curry

Ingredients to make Jackfruit Curry

  • Jackfruit/ kathal - 1/2 kg(cut in cubes)
  • onion - 2(big in size)
  • garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • ginger paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • salt
  • Big cardamom - 1
  • cinnamon - 1
  • clove/ laung - 2

How to make Jackfruit Curry

  1. Wash Jackfruit pieces gently.
  2. Heat oil in pressure cooker.
  3. Fry Jackfruit pieces for 2 or 3 minutes.
  4. Put some water in cooker and close the lid.
  5. After 3 whistle switch off the gas.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and put whole garam masalas.
  7. Add chopped onions and saute.
  8. Fry onions till golden brown in colour.
  9. Add ginger and garlic paste and saute.
  10. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt.
  11. Mix well and cook till oil will separate.
  12. Add fried and boiled Jackfruit pieces and mix well.
  13. Cook on high flame for 3 minutes.
  14. Add some water and cover with lid.
  15. Cook till it become soft and done.
