Fish Stew

Ingredients to make Fish Stew

  • Boneless fish - 300 gm
  • to marinate fish :-
  • chilli powder - 1tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • to shallow fry fish - 2 tbsp oil
  • to make stew we need:-
  • coconut oil - 2tbsp
  • mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • green chilli slitted - 4
  • ginger chopped - 1-2 tsp
  • garlic cloves chopped - 5
  • curry leaves few
  • chopped onion - 100 gm
  • tomato - 1 (50 gm)
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper powder -1/2 tsp
  • first coconut milk - 1 cup
  • second & third coconut milk - 2 cups
  • lemon juice - half lime( or to taste)
  • fresh cream - 3 tbsp
  • salt - to taste

How to make Fish Stew

  1. Marinate fish with given ingredients keep aside for half an hour.
  2. Fry it in a shallow fry pan till done.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,when crackle add curry leaves, slitted green chillies,chopped garlic and ginger, add chopped onion and saute well.
  4. Add turmeric,pepper and coriander powders,stir it.Pour second and third coconut milk, add salt to taste.When it boils add fried fish pieces.
  5. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes.
  6. Let it boil for 2 minutes.
  7. Add first thick coconut milk and low the flame. Check salt to taste.
  8. Finally add thick fresh cream.Mix well. It gives an awesome taste. Ready.Try it.
  9. Serve and enjoy.

My Tip:

Adding fresh thick cream.
