About Buttermilk Rasam Recipe

Buttermilk rasam or majjige saru is a traditional havyaka cuisine. It is good piping with plain rice.

Buttermilk Rasam

Ingredients to make Buttermilk Rasam

  • Sour buttermilk 100 ml
  • water 100 ml
  • salt to taste
  • Green chilli 1
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • curry leaves few
  • Cooking oil 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chilli 1
  • onion chopped 1/2 cup

How to make Buttermilk Rasam

  1. HEAT OIL, ADD MUSTARD SEEDS AND RED CHILLI
  2. ADD CHOPPED ONION, SAUTE FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS AND TURN OFF THE FLAME
  3. GINGER, GREEN CHILLI
  4. ASAFOETIDA AND SALT
  5. ADD BUTTERMILK AND SUFFICIENT WATER
  6. SWITCH ON AND ALLOW IT TO BOIL
  7. ADD CURRY LEAVES, AND TURN OFF THE FLAME, SERVE
