About Coriander/Dhaniya Chutney Recipe

A different variation of routine coriander chutneys, this is an absolute hit and a great accompaniment with steaming hot idlis.

Coriander/Dhaniya Chutney

Ingredients to make Coriander/Dhaniya Chutney

  • oil - 1 tablespoon
  • onions (finely sliced) - 2 small
  • Green chilli 2 - 3 (as per taste)
  • Dry red chilli 1 - 2 (as per taste)
  • Fresh coriander - 1 medium sized bunch
  • Fresh coconut (grated) 1/2 cup
  • garlic 3 - 4 cloves
  • salt as per taste
  • tamarind - 1 tablespoon

How to make Coriander/Dhaniya Chutney

  1. In a pan, heat oil and fry finely sliced onions till they are light brown.
  2. Add green chillies, red chilly and fry.
  3. Stir in roughly chopped coriander leaves and salt .
  4. Add tamarind and close the lid for few minutes.
  5. Turn off the flame, allow the ingredients to cool and then transfer them into a small mixer jar.
  6. Adding a little water at a time grind into a coarse paste.
