ABOUT Indian Green Curry with coconut milk RECIPE

This is a beautiful variation to the thai curry, with a predominant flavor of coriander, lightly spiced and finished with coconut milk

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boneless chicken 250 gms
  2. Red Bell pepper 1/2 cut into julliennes
  3. Yellow Bell pepper 1/2 cut into julliennes
  4. coriander Leaves 1 bunch
  5. Green Chillies 4 to 5
  6. garlic Paste 2 tbsp
  7. tomato Puree 3 medium sized
  8. turmeric 1 tsp
  9. Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  10. coriander Powder 2 tsp
  11. salt To taste
  12. coconut Milk 500 ml
  13. coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Marinate chicken/ vegetables with salt and pepper for an hour. Shallow fry in minimum oil till it gets cooked.
  2. Prepare a paste of coriander and green chillies
  3. Heat oil in a non stick pan, saute garlic till it turns pinkish then add tomato puree and cook till it dries up.
  4. Then add green chilli and coriander leaves paste to the tomatoes. Add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt. Cook for about 10 minutes till it dries up.
  5. Add the chicken pieces/ vegetables and bell peppers to this and cook for 5 to 7 minutes till the chicken/ vegetables get nicely coated with the masala. Add a cup of water and cover for 5 minutes till the ingredients get cooked.
  6. Finish by adding coconut milk and let it simmer for some more time. Adjust consistency using coconut milk if you prefer more curry.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice.
