About Gosht/Mutton Korma Recipe

Authenic Mutton Korma as the kokanis make it.Oil is the base as the masalas are stir fried in oil with ,birrishta onions Tomato puree added or no tomatoes at times Spices like star anise,nut meg,whole cardomom,cinnamon cloves and ginger garlic paste.Roasted powdered and sauted in golden fried onions/birrishta onion.Mutton is added and then salt and kashmiri red chilli poder for colour?Add green chillies as per choice.Yummiest Korma.!

Gosht/Mutton Korma

Ingredients to make Gosht/Mutton Korma

  • 500 grams mutton
  • 3onions fried well
  • 1tblspn onion birrishtaa
  • 1tblspn red chilli kashmiri powderl
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1/2 tspn nutmeg
  • 1 whole big cardomom
  • 1 star anise
  • 4-5 whole pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tspn haldi powder
  • 150 ml oil (rice oil i used)

How to make Gosht/Mutton Korma

  1. Clean wash mutton and keep aside
  2. Chop onions fine ,put to saute
  3. Add ginger garlic paste ,dry masala & stir fry well
  4. Add mutton now,mix well and roast all well for 5 minutes and add birrishta
  5. As oil leaves sides and juices of mutton let out ,add at least 750 ml water
  6. Stir well pressure cook 15 minutes on slow
  7. Remove now in a bowl
  8. Garnish with corriander and serve

My Tip:

If preffered use curd instead of tomato puree .Marinade mutton with salt curds and add to roasted masala
