Zucchini is a summer squash which can reach nearly a metre in length. it is usually cooked and presented as a savory dish or accompaniment. Zucchini has a delicate flavor and requires little more than quick cooking with butter or olive oil, with or without fresh herbs.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. ZUCCHINI – 250 gms
  2. onions CHOPPED – ½ cup
  3. SESAME SEEDS – 1 tsp
  4. DRY coconut POWDER – 1 tsp
  5. ginger GARLIC PASTE – 1 tsp
  6. salt – ½ tsp
  7. RED CHILLI POWDER – ½ tsp
  8. DHANIYA [coriander] POWDER – 1 tsp
  9. cloves – 4 nos
  10. cinnamon – ½ stick
  11. oil – 1 tablespoon
  12. water – 100 ml
  13. CURRY LEAVES – A few


  1. For masala: 1. Now, first prepare masala by making smooth paste of 01 teaspoon of sesame seeds, 1 tsp of dry coconut powder, half tsp of salt, half tsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  2. 1. Then pour 1 tablespoon of oil into the pan, add half cup of chopped onions and some curry leaves and saute for two minutes .
  3. 2. Add the masala into it and cook till oil separates.
  4. 3. Later, add 250 gm of Zucchini pieces and 100 ml of water to the fried masala and continue to cook it covered for 5 minutes.
  5. 4. Finally, open the lid once and check the Zucchini is cooked or not. 5. The Zucchini Curry is now ready to eat with rice, poori or chapathi or even with dosa.
