My grand mothers recipe, a delicious curry to be served with rice or roti.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bitter gourd diced 1 cup
  2. Salt
  3. Water
  4. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  6. Tomato [chopped] - 2
  7. Green chilli - 2
  8. Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  9. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  10. Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  11. Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  12. Whole spices - cardamom, cloves, cinnamon [just a few]
  13. sugar
  14. Onion [chopped] - 2
  15. Tamarind Juice - 4 tbsp
  16. Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp
  17. Cashew -10
  18. Coconut - 2 tbsp
  19. Ground nut - 1 tbsp
  20. Sesame seeds - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take the bitter gourd and peel of the skin and cut into small dices and add salt,turmeric and keep for some time and squeeze out the water
  2. Noe take and pan and add oil and fry them until they are golden brown and soft
  3. Take a pan and add the oil poppy seeds,cashew,ground nut,and fry and make paste
  4. Now take a pan and add oil spices onion tomato green chilli and fry and add all.dry spices and cook well and make fine paste
  5. Now take out the paste of dry spices amd tomato and fry for some time until the oil floats now add some tamarind juice and sugar and water and cook well now add the fries bitter gourd and cook for some more tima and switch off the flame
  6. Now take a tadhka pan and add ghee jeera and red chillli powder and garam masala and give tempering to the curry
