About Aloo aur pyaz ka salan Recipe

This recipe os replication of mirchi ka salan from hyderabad . Normally this gravy is.used to prepare mirchi ka salan which is served as side with biryani. Prepared it with different vegetable which is equslly good and can be eaten with normal.paratha roti also

Aloo aur pyaz ka salan

Ingredients to make Aloo aur pyaz ka salan

  • 10.baby potato parboiled and peeled n pricked with fork
  • 10 baby onion (shallots ) peeled
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 .5tbsp peanut
  • 1 .5tbsp.sesame seeds
  • 1.5 tbsp fresh coconut grated or dessicated coconut
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp.mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp fennel.seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 inch cinnamon sticks
  • 15-20 curry leaves
  • 1tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp tumeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp gur or sugar
  • salt to taste
  • For tempering
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

How to make Aloo aur pyaz ka salan

  1. In a pan dry roast peanuts till it is half done
  2. Then add sesame seeds till it us done .
  3. Then add coconut
  4. Grind all these in a smooth paste with help of water
  5. Heat oil in a karahi . To this add potato
  6. When potato is half done add shallots and pan fry for few minutes
  7. In the same pan.add cumin seeds,mustard seeds,and fennel.seeds let it crackle, also add cinnamon sticks
  8. Also add curry Leaves and cook for few minutes
  9. Make a paste of dry spices and add this to dry spices
  10. Cook masala for few minutes .. then add prepared paste to it
  11. Cook the masala till oil separates
  12. Now add fried potato and shallots
  13. Add tamarind paste with gur dissolved in it
  14. Cook with lid on low flame
  15. For tempering heat oil add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
  16. Pour it on prepared salan

My Tip:

Cook masala well to.get the real flavour
