Butter Paneer Dal Fry

Ingredients to make Butter Paneer Dal Fry

  • 1/2 cup of yellow pigeon peas
  • 1/3 cup of gram dal
  • 6 to 7 paneer chunks
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tometo chopped
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seed
  • 1 piece of cinnamon
  • 2 pieces of cloves
  • 1/2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 Tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp of garlic chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 dry red chilly
  • 1 tbs boiled green pease

How to make Butter Paneer Dal Fry

  1. Wash both the lentils thoroughly.
  2. Soak them for half an hour in 1 and half cup water.
  3. Pressure cook it for 3 to 4 whistles.
  4. Heat about 1 & 1/2 tbsp of butter(keep the rest for tadka) in a pan.
  5. Place the paneer chunks in the pan. Flip and roast the chunks until little Brown from all sides.
  6. Transfer the paneer pieces to a plate.
  7. In same pan add the seasoning ingredients, cumin seeds, cloves and the cinnamon stick.
  8. Add the onion and saute until translucent but make sure that they do not turn brown in colour.
  9. Add the tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder,garam masala,red chilli powder and the let the ingredients cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  10. Pour in the boiled dal and mix well.add water if required.
  11. Add paneer,salt and sprinkle some coriander leaves,green piece and let it boil for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  12. For tadka
  13. Heat the remaining butter in a small pan.
  14. Add a whole dry red chilli and let it cook,
  15. Add 1/4 tsp asafetida and chopped garlic.
  16. Stir and pour it all over the dal.
  17. Butter paneer dal fry is ready to serve.
  18. Enjoy immediately with jeera rice,naan or any paratha.
