ABOUT Vendakkai Pachadi (Bhindi Raita) RECIPE

A wonderful preparation of okra cooked in yoghurt.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Okra (bhindi), sliced into thin rounds 100 gm
  2. Yoghurt (dahi), whisked 1cup / 200 gm
  3. Refined oil 4 tsp / 20 ml
  4. Mustard seeds (rai) ¼ tsp
  5. Salt to taste or ¾ tsp / 3gm

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 tsp oil in a pan; fry the okra till it turns golden brown. You can sprinkle a little water and close the pan with a lid.
  2. Mix the yoghurt and okra together.
  3. Heat the remaining oil; saute the mustard seeds tilI they start spluttering.
  4. Remove from heat mix in with the yoghurt mixture. Add salt to taste.
