Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Basamati Rice 250 gms
  2. Mutton 250 gms
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 2 medium size potato
  5. Curd 100 gms
  6. Onion paste 3 tblspn
  7. Garlic paste 2 tblspn
  8. Tomato puree 3 tblspn
  9. Ginger paste 1 tblspn
  10. Jeera powder 2 tspn
  11. Garam masala powder 1 tspn
  12. Haldi 1 tspn
  13. Bay leaves 2
  14. Red chilli powder as per taste
  15. Sugar 3 tspn
  16. Salt as per taste
  17. Ghee 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Marinate mutton with curd, onion garlic ginger paste, salt, jeera powder, haldi and 1 tsp sugar for haf n hr
  2. Boil eggs and keep aside
  3. Peel and wash potatoes and cut in half
  4. Heat half cup ghee and add bay leaves
  5. Add 1 tspn sugar and let it turn red
  6. Put in the tomato puree and stir
  7. Add the mutton and cook nicely adding little water at a time. Add chilli powder and a lil more salt.
  8. Add garam masala powder and water. Cook till 3 whistles in cooker
  9. Rice
  10. Wash and drain water from rice
  11. Mix salt, 1 tspn sugar to it and stir it in 1/2 cup ghee. Add the potatoes. When the colour turns light yellow, pour the rice in the mutton. Put in the eggs and cook till 1 more whistle. Make sure not to use too much water. It has to be dry.
  12. When the vapour evaporates, open lid and serve.
  13. To give it a bi colour, I added some white rice to it before serving.
