Ingredients to make Kuthiraivali(Barnyard millet) Kanda Batata Poha

  • Kuthiraivali Flakes - 1 cup
  • turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • salt- To taste
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
  • green chillies - 2 (slit it)
  • Grated Coocnut -2 tbsp
  • lemon Juice -2 tsp (adjust it )
  • Roasted Ground nut -2 tbsp
  • potato -1 small(peel and chopped into small pieces)
  • coriander leaves -for garnishing
  • To Temper :
  • oil -1 tsp
  • mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  • jeera -1/4 tsp
  • curry leaves -1 sprig

How to make Kuthiraivali(Barnyard millet) Kanda Batata Poha

  1. First wash and soak the poha 5 mins and drain the water completely.Mix the poha with salt,sugar and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai temper the ingredients given under"TO TEMPER " .Then add the groundnuts,potato and green chillies.Saute well until the potato is half cooked add the onion.Saute it well for 3 mins.
  3. *Now add the Poha and mix well.Low the flame and cover with lid,cook it 2 mins.*Finally add the grated coconut ,lemon juice and coriander leaves.Mix and Serve it !!
