Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  2. 1 package active dry yeast
  3. 3 cups Flour
  4. 1 cup milk
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 2 tblp butter
  7. 2 Eggs
  8. 1/2 cup Raisins
  9. 1/2 cup almonds
  10. 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract
  11. For the glaze
  12. 1 cup Icing sugar
  13. 1 tsp milk
  14. sugar balls to decorate

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix together yeast, flour, salt and sugar. Mix well. Warm the milk slightly. Beat the eggs.
  2. Add the eggs, milk and melted butter together into the bowl of flour. Start mixing and then once the dough comes together, knead it at least for 10 minutes.
  3. Set it aside in a cool dry place, till it doubles in size almost 1 hour.
  4. Now, into the dough add in the vanilla or almond extract as well as the raisins and almonds knead for a minute until combined
  5. Grease a cake tin and add the dough into it. Keep this aside for 30 minutes and then bake at 200 degree centigrade for 35 -45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Remove and let cool
  6. Make the glaze by mixing together the icing sugar and the milk. Pour over the cake and arrange sugar balls on it before serving
