ABOUT Sponge Halwa Aka Bread Halwa RECIPE

My Signature Dish. Softness of bread with it sweet texture gives a heaven feeling. Melts in mouth and goodness of wheat bread adds guilt free emotions too. Tastes somewhat like Shahi Tukda but bit varies from that. I assure you that once you taste it You cannot stop yourself from finishing it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. One packet whole wheat bread - 1
  2. Granulated Sugar - 1 bowl
  3. Canola Oil - any other choice is yours - for deep fry
  4. Almonds - 10
  5. Raisins - 1/4 bowl
  6. Chilled Milk 250 ml

Instructions

  1. Take half of the chilled milk in a broad bowl.
  2. Pour the oil in a deep pan and let it get hot.
  3. Now take one slice of whole wheat bread and fry it deeply.
  4. As soon as it turns golden color take it out and put it in chilled milk bowl
  5. Dip it from both sides and then squeeze it by wearing gloves on hands because it may be hot from inside.
  6. Keep it aside on a plate.
  7. You can add more milk if the milk turns hot. Oils come above the milk hence all the oil from bread slices comes out.
  8. Fry all the slices with same procedure and keep aside.
  9. Now take a pan and put all the squeezed breads in that pan and with the help of serving spoon mash them properly and pour a bit of milk in it.
  10. Add granulated sugar in it and keep stirring.
  11. At last add almonds and raisins and stir well.
  12. Your heaven is ready !!
