About QUICK BESAN BURFI Recipe

Besan Burfi is one of the most loved and famous Indian traditional festive sweets. It is also very easy to make and moreover it is quite high on nutritional value. Here the dry fruits especially are coarsely grounded and mixed into the besan mixture to create a nice crunchy feeling which many kids and adults love. Besan Burfi is a blend of all essential ingredients that foster good health. However, the amount of sugar added is a matter of choice. Hope you try this recipe and let me know how you liked it.

QUICK BESAN BURFI

Ingredients to make QUICK BESAN BURFI

  • ghee 1 cup
  • besan 2 cups
  • semolina/suji/rawa ½ cup
  • Powdered sugar 1 cup
  • Dry fruits powder ½ cup
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp

How to make QUICK BESAN BURFI

  1. In a saucepan add a cup of melted/clarified ghee. To this add two cups of besan or chickpea flour, half a cup suji or semolina and mix well.
  2. Stir continuously till the mixture turns golden brown. Next, add 1 cup powdered sugar, coarsely ground dry fruits to this mixture and mix well till there are no lumps.
  3. Add 1 tea spoon freshly ground elaichi or cardamom powder and again stir for 10 minutes till the mixture is slightly sticky. Take it off the heat and put it aside.
  4. Quickly, take a plate and apply clarified ghee and spread it well. Now, add the ready besan mixture and press it well till it is tightly packed.
  5. Cut the mixture into diamond shapes and allow it to cool or set for approximately two hours.
