About Khichda Recipe

Its a very famous recipe, a non vegetarian khichdi, made woth chicken , dal , rice and spices.

Ingredients to make Khichda

  • For making chicken:-chicken - 150grams
  • onion - 1
  • Fried onions - 1/2cup
  • lemon - 1
  • tomato -1
  • cilantro - For garnishing
  • ginger/garlic/green chillie paste - 3tablespoon
  • Red chillie powder - 1tablespoon
  • turmeric powder - 1tablespoon
  • water - 1/2cup
  • salt - As required
  • Garam masala powder - 1tablespoon
  • cumin /corrainder powder - 1tablespoon
  • oil - 3tablespoon
  • For daal
  • Chana daal/moong dal/urad daal - 1cup mix
  • rice - 1/2cup
  • Broken wheat - 1/4cup
  • salt - As required
  • water -1cup
  • turmeric powder - 1tablespoon

How to make Khichda

  1. Soak the daal for 30mins wash and put it in cooker add water ,salt and turmeric take 6-7vessels.
  2. In a pan add oil than add onion saute it for 2-3mins than add tomato add g/g/g paste saute it for 2mins.
  3. Than add all the spieces mix well add chicken.
  4. Once its done add water and cook it till its done.
  5. Than add the mashed daal in it.
  6. Dish out in a plate garnish it with some fried onions and cilantro and lemon slice.
