About Kalakand Recipe

A yummy mithai recipe that is everyone's favourite.

Kalakand

Ingredients to make Kalakand

  • Milk 1 liter
  • Paneer/ cottage cheese 250 gms
  • sugar as per taste
  • saffron strands 2 pinch
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped pistachios for garnishing

How to make Kalakand

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, boil the milk. Then let it simmer, add in the cardamom powder and saffron strands.
  2. When the milk beings to thicken, crumble and add the paneer/ cottage cheese. Keep stirring and add sugar.
  3. When the milk quantity has reduced, transfer it to a greased plate and spread it evenly.
  4. Cut in desired shapes and let it chill in the refrigerator.
  5. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve.

My Tip:

Keep stirring to prevent it from getting burnt.
