ABOUT Chicken Kheema Kachoris... RECIPE

Kachoris made with chicken mince are often a wonderful appetiser or snack that can be made for any family get togethers or reunions at weekends. Absolutely delish and made with ease. These can be relished with green chutney. And on top of these, these are made with both whole wheat flour and plain flour for a healthier twist by me.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
  2. 1 1/2 cups All purpose flour
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. 1 cup milk
  6. 1 tsp carom seeds
  7. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  8. FOR THE CHICKEN FILLING ; 400 gm chicken mince
  9. 1 tsp salt
  10. 1 tsp garlic mince
  11. 1 tsp garam masala
  12. 1 tsp tikka masala
  13. 1/2 chopped coriander leaves
  14. 2-3 chopped green chillies
  15. 1 onion sliced thinly
  16. 1/2 cup boiled green peas
  17. 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Knead a smooth dough out of all the ingredients mentioned. Keep aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil and add onions first. Saute them until translucent.
  3. Now add the rest of the spices and finally the chicken mince. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Saute all until done after adding boiled peas and keep aside. Garnish with coriander too.
  5. Now divide the dough into medium sized balls and start rolling.
  6. Place about a big tablespoon of the filling in the centre and bring all the edges to the centre pleating it all the way and then pinching it at the top to secure it firmly.
  7. Make all in this way and deep fry them in hot oil on a low to medium high heat only. The oil should be hot and do not increase the heat. These require a little patience. If these are fried on high heat, the inside may not be cooked through and thus remain uncooked
  8. Deep fry all as such and serve with any chutney of your choice, especially meethi chutney.
