ABOUT Cheese Spring Rolls... RECIPE

A lovely appetiser or a snack that is liked by many across the globe. Filling can vary according to choices but taste will not. These are deep fried bundles of joy oozing out cheese when you take a first bite. A perfect evening snack for a perfect idea of relaxation.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. FOR THE SPRING ROLL WRAPPER ; All purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Corn flour 2 tbsp
  3. Salt 1/2 tsp
  4. Water 1 cup (or more)
  5. Oil 1 tbsp
  6. Cheddar cheese 1 cup
  7. Red chilli flakes 1 tbsp
  8. Coriander leaves finely chopped 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a bowl except oil listed under wrapper making and add water little at a time to make a batter of flowing consistency.
  2. It should not be very thick but similar to that of a dosa batter.
  3. Smear a little oil on the tawa or griddle with a tissue paper.
  4. If using a non stick pan, there is no need of any oil.
  5. As soon as it gets hot, pour a ladleful of the batter onto it and taking it away from the heat, spread just like a dosa.
  6. Allow it to cook on a low flame and no need of flipping it over.
  7. As soon as the edges start curling up, it is time to remove them.
  8. Make all accordingly and stack in a casserole with cooked side facing us.
  9. Store them in ziplock bags in the freezer for future use or use them right after they are made.
  10. Mix cheese and other ingredients in a small bowl.
  11. Place a tablespoon of filling on the wrapper at one side and fold it from both the sides and rolling it until the edge and then sealing it with little flour paste. (For the flour paste, mix water and flour to a thick paste)
  12. Deep fry all on high heat for 2 minutes turning them well.
  13. Each batch is done is 2-3 minutes.
  14. As these sheets are thin and pre cooked, so these are done very quickly.
  15. Serve them hot with chilli tomato sauce.
