ABOUT Moongdal dhokla RECIPE

Its nice,soft and tasty dhokla.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Yellow split moong dal 1 cup
  2. ginger half inch piece
  3. 2 green chillies
  4. 2 tbsp gram flour
  5. Pinch of hing
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Half tbsp Eno fruit salt
  8. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  9. Half cup curd
  10. Half tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 sprig of curry leaves

Instructions

  1. First soak moong dal for 3 hrs.
  2. Then roughly chop green chilli and ginger.
  3. Wash moong dal and grind into fine paste with ginger and green chillies.
  4. Remove in a vessel. Add curd, salt, turmeric powder, hing and gram flour to the batter and mix well.
  5. The batter should not be thick. So add few spoons of water if needed.
  6. Now add eno fruit salt and mix well. The bubbles will form.
  7. Put the batter in a greased plate and steam it for 15 mins on high flame.
  8. Check by putting knife in the center. If it comes out clean then its ready else keep it for few more minutes. Then check again.
  9. Take oil in a separate pan. Heat it .
  10. Add half tsp mustard seeds. Let it crackle and then add few curry leaves. Switch off the flame.
  11. Put this on top of dhokla. Cut it into pieces
  12. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with green chutney and chopped onion.
