About Corn Cutlets Recipe

It can be served as starter or snack. You can also pack it in lunch box of kids.

Corn Cutlets

Ingredients to make Corn Cutlets

  • corn niblets 1 cup
  • Finely chopped onions, 2 medium sized
  • Chopped Green chilies 2
  • Finely chopped ginger 1 inch
  • Finely chopped fresh coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  • gram flour (Besan) 1/4 cup
  • oil 2 tbsp + to deep fry
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • fennel (saunf) seeds 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
  • Bread crumbs 1/4 tsp
  • lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Chaat masala 2 tbsp

How to make Corn Cutlets

  1. Boil the corn-niblets or pressure cook them in 2 cups of water and cool. Drain the excess water.
  2. Roast the gram flour in a pan till it gives a nice aroma.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add the fennel seeds and cumin seeds and saute till they change color. Add onion and saute till it turns light brown in color.
  4. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder ginger and green chilies. Mix well. Also add 3/4 of corn niblets and saute till it is dry.
  5. Then remove from the heat and cool it slightly and grind in a mixer.
  6. Remove this mixture in a bowl. Add the remaining corn niblets, coriander leaves, salt to taste, gram flour, bread crumbs and mix well to form a dough. Make 15 equal sized cutlets.
  7. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry all the cutlets till they turn golden brown.
  8. Serve in a plate and sprinkle chaat masala powder and lemon juice on top.
