A traditional Maharashtrian sweet.

Peanut Chikki

Ingredients to make Peanut Chikki

  • peanut 1 and 1/4 cup
  • sugar 1 and 1/4 cup
  • ghee- 2 tbsp

How to make Peanut Chikki

  1. Grease a plate or chopping board and rolling pin to flatten the peanut mixture. Roast the peanut on medium heat, then remove and keep it aside in a plate. Once they are cooled, rub between your palms and remove the skin.
  2. Using the same pan, caramelize the sugar and turn off the heat. Pour the hot mixture on a greased plate or board. Flatten it with the help of a greased rolling pin and cut into desired shapes.
  3. When the mixture is hot, use a sharp knife to cut. Once its cooled, store it in a dry container.

My Tip:

To check the correct consistency of the carmalized sugar, drop the sugar mixture in cold water and if it forms a ball then it's ready.
