About Vrat Ka Halwa Recipe

Aloo Halwa is a very famous and delicious dessert. It can be eaten during any fasting or falahaar fasting. It is very easiest and quickest halwa. It is made from boiled potatoes. I always make this halwa during Navratres for my family.

Vrat Ka Halwa

Ingredients to make Vrat Ka Halwa

  • 2 boiled potatoes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Ghee/clarified butter
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 3-4 chopped pistachios
  • 4-5 chopped almonds

How to make Vrat Ka Halwa

  1. Peel and mashed the boiled potatoes.
  2. Heat ghee on non-stick pan. Add mashed potatoes and mix it well. Saute potatoes on medium gas for 8-10 minutes or until it become light golden in color. (Keep stirring the halwa else it will start sticking at the bottom, it might be burn)
  3. Now add sugar and milk.
  4. Cook it 3-4 minutes on medium gas.Turn off the gas. Now add cardamom powder and some chopped almonds and pistachios. mix well.
  5. Take out halwa in serving tray or bowl. Garnish with some chopped almonds and pistachios.
  6. Serve hot or cold.

My Tip:

Add Sugar as per your taste. You can add more cashews or walnuts.
