A spicy pakoras made with lentils that addicts you with the flavour of mint and ginger

Lentils Pakoras

Ingredients to make Lentils Pakoras

  • Parboiled rice 1/2 cup
  • Thur dal 1/2 cup
  • Channa dal & Moongh dal 1/4 cup
  • Urad dal 3 tea spoons
  • Red chillies 2
  • Chopped green chillies 1
  • Chopped onions from 1 onion
  • Chopped mint leaves 2 table spoons
  • Finely Grated ginger 2 teaspoons
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying

How to make Lentils Pakoras

  1. Soak all the dals and rice together after washing them well for 3 hours.
  2. Then drain the water and grind them to coarse thick batter adding required salt and red chillies. Add very little water if necessary water while grinding. The consistency of the batter should be just like Vada batter.
  3. Then add the mint leaves, onions, ginger and green chillies and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Drop small portions of the batter into the oil and fry it to golden brown in medium flame.

My Tip:

If the batter becomes watery don't worry. Add a tb spoon of besan flour or sooji (Semolina)
