ABOUT APPLE HALWA RECIPE

Made from juicy delicious apples,which are a good source of iron. This halwa is a true tongue tickler. Plus to top it up this ones a sugar free recipe. The sweetness is achoeved purely from the sugars that are present in the fruit naturally.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 kilo apples
  2. 200 grams / 1 cup fresh cream
  3. 1 tbsp clarified butter
  4. 2 inch cinnamon stick
  5. 10-12 almonds

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel & remove deseed the apple. Cut into small chunks.
  2. Slice or chop the almonds
  3. Heat ghee in a pan
  4. Add cinnamon sticks & saute for 30 seconds
  5. Next add the chopped apples & saute on a high flame for 3 minutes
  6. Then add 1 cup fresh cream & saute on high flame for another 2 minutes
  7. Cover the pan & let the apples cook in medium flame for 10-12 minutes. Stir in between to avoid sticking at the bottom
  8. Once the apples are cooked & mushy, open the lid & let the moisture evaporate. Add the chopped almonds at this stage.
  9. After cooking for about 3-4 minutes our delicious Apple halwa is ready to be served. Can be served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream too.
