Jowar Vadas

Ingredients to make Jowar Vadas

  • 1 cup jowar Flour
  • 3 tbsp besan
  • 3 tbsp curd
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp green chili paste
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • oil for frying
  • Chat masala to sprinkle

How to make Jowar Vadas

  1. Mix Jowar, besan and curd with water to form batter of dropping consistency. Do not make it watery. Keep it aside for 5-6 hours
  2. Add onion, sesame, salt, green chilly and Ginger paste. Mix well. Now add spices (except chat masala) and mix
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Before frying add baking soda to batter and mix. Using a spoon, drop the batter in hot oil. Fry on medium heat until golden brown
  4. Allow excess oil to be absorbed by absorbent towel. Sprinkle chat masala, serve hot with sauce or chutney
