Chattai Cheese Chilli Pockets

Ingredients to make Chattai Cheese Chilli Pockets

  • For the Dough
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup flour
  • Carrom seeds 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • Filling
  • 2 capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 big onion finely chopped
  • 4 Amul cheese cubes grated
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • Chat masala 1 tsp
  • Zeera powder 1 tsp
  • oil for frying
  • water for greasing

How to make Chattai Cheese Chilli Pockets

  1. DOUGH
  2. Make a regular dough and keep it aside
  4. Mix the capsicum onion and cheese.Add the seasonings
  5. Roll the dough and cut into two long rectangles
  6. Place 1 rectangle over the other and place the filling in the center
  7. Fold 1 side over the FILLING and 2 nd side too.Leave two sides
  8. Cut the remaining two slices into thin strips ,equal on both the sides
  9. Apply thin layer of water
  10. Start forming the chattai by alternating the strips
  11. When the strips are all interlocked,seal them with fingers dipped in water
  12. Shallow fry on medium flame till golden brown
  13. Serve hot with sauce
  14. Close view

My Tip:

Make the interlocking neat & seal with water else they will open while frying.You can even bake these at 180 degree Celsius for 12 mins
