Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken - 2 whole leg pieces
  2. Onion - 1 medium sized
  3. Tomato - 1 medium sized
  4. Oil - 2-3 tablespoon
  5. For Marinade:
  6. Onion - 1 small sized
  7. Tomato - 1 small sized
  8. Green Chillies - 2-3
  9. Coriander Leaves - 3-4 tablespoon (chopped)
  10. Curry leaves - few
  11. Ginger - 1 teaspoon ( chopped)
  12. Garlic - 1 tablespoon ( chopped )
  13. Turmeric Powder - a pinch
  14. Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tablespoon ( add more if you like spicy )
  15. Black Peppercorns - 6-7
  16. Coriander Powder - 1 tablespoon
  17. Salt - to taste
  18. Sugar - A pinch
  19. Hing - a pinch
  20. Lemon juice - 1 and 1/2 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the chicken pieces and mark incisions on it.
  2. Grind together all the ingredients mentioned for marinade. Meanwhile chop the onion and tomato.
  3. Marinate the chicken pieces with the prepared paste and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai or pan, add onion and saute till it's lightly brown. Now add the chopped tomato and cook till it turns little mushy for 3-4 mins.
  5. Finally add the marinated chicken to the pan, put little water and cover and cook it for 20 mins.
  6. Keep stirring in between the masala as it shouldn't stick to the bottom of the pan.
  7. The Chicken Masala Fry is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice, roti/ chapati.
