Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Quarter kg prawns , cleaned and deviened
  2. 1.5 bowl of cauliflower chopped to small pieces
  3. 1 LARGE ONION CHOPPED
  4. 1 TOMATO CHOPPED
  5. 1.5 tblspn ginger garlic paste
  6. 3 tblspn grated coconut
  7. 1 cup Fresh Coriander
  8. 3 green chillies
  9. 3 pepercorns
  10. 1/2 tspns turmeric
  11. 1 tspn red chilli powder
  12. salt as per taste
  13. 2-3 tblspn oil
  14. 1 inch cinamon

Instructions

  1. Wash prawns thoroughly and marinate with a tspn of turmeric, 1 tspn red chili powder and a bit of salt. Keep aside for around 15 minutes
  2. In a wet grinder combine together coconut, coriander leaves , turmeric, red chilli powder, peppercorns. Add in a some water to assist grinding and grind to a smooth paste.
  3. Place a wide mouthed vessel on the stove and add oil. Add in cinamon and let it sizzle
  4. Add in the chopped onion and saute till it turns translucent.
  5. Add in ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and saute for a couple of minutes
  6. Add in the cauliflower and saute on high flame for a couple of minutes
  7. Lower the flame and add in the prawns. You might want to add in some water at this stage to make sure everything mixes well. You can use the water of the ground masala after you empty the masal in a separate bowl.
  8. Add in salt, combine, cover the vessel and let it cook for 10 minutes on low flame
  9. After 10 minutes add in the ground masala alongwith a few tblspns of water, stir well , cover and cook on low flame for another 10 minutes
  10. Switch off the flame and serve as a side dish with rice and fish curry
