Punjabi kadhi

Ingredients to make Punjabi kadhi

  • curd - 2 cups
  • gram flour - 1/2 cup
  • hing - 2pinch
  • Whole red chilly- 2- or 3
  • fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • coriander seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • curry leaves 8-10
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • Fresh tomato puree - 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  • ginger Paste 1 Teaspoon
  • Chopped green chilly - 1

How to make Punjabi kadhi

  1. In a bowl, add curd , gram flour and mix it well. Add 1 glass of water, prepare a thin batter without any lumps .
  2. Heat some oil in a pan and add- hing, garam masala, ginger paste, chopped green chilly, coriander powder, chilli powder and turmeric, roast them properly.
  3. When masala leaves the oil , add thin batter of curd and gramflour.
  4. Let it boil on slow flame for 20-25 min. You can add more water if needed while boiling . Switch off the flame .
  5. Add besan pakoda and garnish with coriander leaves . Serve with rice .

My Tip:

It can be made with fresh buttermilk.
