A dish that is best for kids who do not like vegetables.

Vegetable Loaf

Ingredients to make Vegetable Loaf

  • maida/ Flour - 2 cups
  • yeast - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  • sugar -1 teaspoon
  • Warm water - 1/2 cup
  • 1 cup of vegetables ( a mix of beans, carrot, capsicum, mushrooms, onion)
  • garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
  • red chilli flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder as per taste
  • salt as per taste
  • olive oil as required
  • Milk - 1/2 cup

How to make Vegetable Loaf

  1. Mix the warm water, sugar and yeast together. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Let the mixture turn frothy, then add one pinch of salt, olive oil and mix it with the flour/maida. Keep this aside for 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
  3. Chop all the vegetables and saute them slightly in butter. Add the seasoning as per choice. Keep it aside.
  4. When the vegetable cools down, stuff this in the dough and brush it with milk.
  5. Bake in an oven or add salt in a large wok and place a small vessel in it. Place the stuffed dough in it and cook it covered for 45 minutes.
  6. Serve it warm.

My Tip:

When you use milk for brushing, it becomes very soft.
