About Cauliflower Manchurian Recipe

A very popular Indo Chinese dish which can be made very easily at home.

Cauliflower Manchurian

Ingredients to make Cauliflower Manchurian

  • cauliflower florets- 1 cup
  • Soya sauce – 1 tsp
  • pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Corn flour – 1 tbsp
  • maida – 1 tbsp
  • oil- as much required for frying
  • For the Sauce
  • Sliced spring onion ( white)- 1/2 cup
  • garlic – 6-7 cloves
  • ginger – 1 inch
  • green chillies – 2
  • Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
  • vinegar – 2 tsps
  • tomato ketchup- 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsps
  • pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • water – 2 cups
  • salt to taste
  • Sesame oil – 1-2 tbsps
  • spring onion greens – 1/4th cup

How to make Cauliflower Manchurian

  1. To make the sauce
  2. Peel, crush and chop garlic.
  3. Peel, wash and chop ginger finely.
  4. Wash and chop green chillies finely.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped ginger and garlic. Sauté till it turn golden. Add green chillies and chopped spring onions and sauté for few mins.
  6. Add soya sauce, pepper powder, vinegar, sugar, tomato ketchup and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for a min.
  7. Add 1+1/2 cups of water and let it boil. Check the seasonings.
  8. Add 1/2 cup of water to corn flour and mix till it dissolves completely.
  9. Reduce the flame and add this corn flour mixture while stirring continuously. Mix well and cook till the sauce thickens.
  10. Keep it aside.
  11. Blanch ( cook in boiling water for a min) the cauliflower. Drain well.
  12. Add corn flour, maida, soya sauce, pepper and salt to taste.
  13. Sprinkle little water and mix well. Check the seasonings.
  14. Heat oil and deep fry the cauliflower till it turns crisp and brown.
  15. Remove and keep it aside.
  16. To serve the Manchurian
  17. Heat the sauce, add the fried cauliflower and let it simmer for a min.
  18. Garnish with spring onion greens and serve it hot with rice/ noodles.
