Plum and ginger sorbet

Ingredients to make Plum and ginger sorbet

  • 3-4 medium plums (about 250 grams)
  • 50 grams or 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp grated or finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp lemon juice ( optional )

How to make Plum and ginger sorbet

  1. Clean the plums , cut in half and remove the pit
  2. In a food processor or blender , blend together the plums , sugar , honey and ginger for a minute or so
  3. If the mixture is too sweet , add lemon juice (start with 1/4 tsp) .
  4. Strain into a freezer friendly tray or container . Cover with a kid or tightly with plastic wrap. Let freeze for 2-3 hours
  5. Once it's set hard , break it up using a fork . Pulse it in the food processor or blender again until smooth.
  6. You can serve it or store it in the freezer for a scoop able consistency for 1-2 hours. If it gets hard, just let it rest at room temperature for a few minutes
