Simple Dal

Ingredients to make Simple Dal

  • water 2 1/2 ltr
  • moong dal 1 cup
  • salt 1 1/2 tsp
  • ginger 1" finely chopped
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • jaggery 1 lemon sized
  • tomatoes chopped 1 cup
  • methi leaves chopped 1/4 cup
  • Gooseberry sized tamarind soaked water 1/2 cup
  • For seasoning...
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • red chilli 2
  • curry leaves few
  • Cooking oil 2 tsp

How to make Simple Dal

  1. ADD TOMATOES IN BOILING WATER
  2. COOK CHOPPED TOMATO, ADD SALT TO TASTE
  3. GINGER, TURMERIC POWDER
  4. TAMARIND SOAKED WATER
  5. JAGGERY
  6. ADD ASAFOETIDA
  7. ADD METHI LEAVES CHOPPED, COVER AND COOK TILL TRANSULANT
  8. SEASONING
  9. COOKED MOONG DAL
  10. GRIND INTO PASTE
  11. ADD IN, ALLOW IT TO BOIL
  12. WHEN IT BOILS FINELY ADD SEASONING AND TURN OFF THE FLAME, SERVE
