ABOUT Rawa handvo RECIPE

Handvo is a traditional recipe of Gujrat. Traditionally it is made with various types of pulses. I have made it with suji and vegetables. It is a very healthy recipe for breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup suji
  2. 2 cup curd/ yogurt
  3. 1 capsicum finely chopped
  4. 1 tomato finely chopped
  5. 1 onion finely chopped
  6. 2 green chillies finely chopped
  7. 1/4 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  8. salt as per taste
  9. Red chilli powder as per taste
  10. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  11. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  12. oil as required
  13. Baking soda 2 tsp


  1. Mix all the ingredients well except the baking soda.
  2. Let it it sit for about 10 minutes. Now add some water, the batter should be thick not runny.
  3. Now take a kadai, add 2 tsp of oil. Take 2 tbsp batter in a separate bowl and mix the baking soda into it. Mix it well and pour this on hot oil. Cover it with a lid and cook at low heat.
  4. After 5-7 minutes, when the bottom becomes crispy, flip it over and cook from another side. When the other side is cooked perfectly, turn off the stove and transfer it into a plate. Repeat this process with the remaining batter.
  5. Serve it hot with green chutney.
