Its a middle eastern baked meat loaf . A healthy and hearty meal in itself.

Sneyyat Kobeba

Ingredients to make Sneyyat Kobeba

  • For filling :
  • 300 gms mince
  • 1tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2tbsp chopped garlic
  • 2 finely chopped green chilli
  • 2tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander
  • salt
  • 2tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp boharat/all spice powder
  • Pinch of nutmeg powder
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2-3 crushed cardamom pods
  • 1tbsp raisins
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • For crust
  • 200 gms goat mince
  • 1 cup bulgur/ cracked wheat
  • 1/2 cup soaked split urad dal
  • 1/2 cup chopped dil leaves
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • salt
  • 2tsp boharat/ all spice powder
  • 1/2tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/8tsp nutmeg powder
  • 2tsp red chilli powder
  • 2tbsp sour cream
  • 1/2tbsp ghee

How to make Sneyyat Kobeba

  1. In a pan put ghee and onion to it
  2. Cook it till golden
  3. Now add in garlic and keep stirring until garlic is cooked
  4. Now add in chillies, all spices and goat mince
  5. Keep stirring and breaking the mince regularly.
  6. Cover the lid and simmer the flame until mince is cooked.
  7. For crust :
  8. Cook the cracked wheat till 1 whistle. Strain and keep aside.
  9. Strain the soaked dal and blend it in the mixer.
  10. Now put all the ingredients listed in the ingredients for crust except dil leaves,in mixer and blend until a thick paste is formed.
  11. Now mix in the dil leaves
  12. Grease the tart tin
  13. Now spread half of the crust mixture on the tart tin and smoothen it with the back of a spoon.
  14. Now spread the cooked mince mixture over this leaving the edges
  15. Now cover this with the remaining crust mixture and again smoothen the surface with the help of a spoon.
  16. Garnish with pinenuts
  17. Bake it in a preheated oven at 180℃ for 1 hour or until the surface turns golden.
  18. Slice and serve.
