ABOUT Chicken Pie RECIPE

This recipe can be easily made for small parties.It is appetising and guests enjoy having it.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the pie crust :-
  2. 2 cups refined flour
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 2/3 cup butter
  5. 5-7 tblsp cold water
  6. For the filling :-
  7. 500 gms boneless chicken
  8. 1 cup sliced carrot
  9. 1 cup boiled corns
  10. 1/3 cup chopped onion
  11. 1/3 cup refined flour
  12. 1/2 tsp salt
  13. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  14. 1 cup chicken stock
  15. 2/3 cup milk
  16. 1/3cup chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. For making pie crust:-
  2. Put flour into mixing bowl with butter
  3. Gently mix the butter into the flour with fingers.
  4. Add salt and water .
  5. Mix until dough is formed.
  6. Wrap in cling film.Put in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes
  7. Now divide dough into two portions and roll out on flat surface
  8. Place one crust in the pie mould and prick with fork.Bake at 375 degrees until light brown
  9. For the filling:-
  10. Cut chicken into cubes.
  11. Boil chicken carrot and corn in a saucepan for 10 minutes.
  12. Remove from heat,drain the stock in a vessel and keep aside.
  13. In another vessel cook onions in butter until soft and translucent.
  14. Stir in flour,salt and pepper.
  15. Slowly stir in chicken stock and milk.Simmer over medium heat until thick.
  16. Add in the chopped parsley
  17. Now place the boiled chicken, carrot and corn mixture in the previously baked pie crust.
  18. Pour the prepared white sauce over it
  19. Cover with remaining crust.You can create any design of your choice with the top crust.
  20. Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
