ABOUT Dahi bhalla RECIPE

Dal fried balls immersed in sweet curd loaded with sweet and spicy chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Urad dal- 1 cup
  2. Oil for frying
  3. 1 big bowl beaten sweet curd
  4. 1 cup tamarind chutney
  5. 1 cup green chutney
  6. Chat masala- 3 tbsp
  7. Salt
  8. Red chilli powder- 2 tbsp
  9. Roasted jeera powder- 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal for 6 hours.
  2. Drain the water and grind it to smooth paste with less water. Beat it for 5-8 mins with your hands.
  3. Heat oil, it should be enough so that the balls of dal should be fully immersed other wise peaks will be formed.
  4. Then make big, medium or small balls as per preference. Fry them till they turn golden brown at a low flame.
  5. Take them out and put in warm water. Cover and leave it for 3 hours.
  6. Then slightly squeeze water. Take them in a bowl, keep it in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight.
  7. Take the beaten curd add powdered sugar in it and put the balls in it .
  8. Put each piece in small katori, pour the curd and sprinkle the chat masala, red chilli powder, salt and jeera powder on top.
  9. Pour lots of green chutney then sweet tamrind chutney and enjoy!
