ABOUT Bathura RECIPE

Bathura is a popular delicacy from the North of India . Chole masala is the perfect accompaniment for Bathura.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. All purpose flour 2 cups
  2. whole wheat flour 1/2 cup
  3. Fine semolina 1/4 cup
  4. Hung curd 2 cups
  5. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Baking soda a big pinch
  8. Ghee a teaspoon
  9. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl , take 2 cups all purpose flour , 1/2 cup wheat flour , 1/4 teaspoon salt .
  2. Add 1/4 cup fine semolina to the flours. Mix all together .
  3. Add 2 cups hung curd . 1/4 teaspoon baking powder and a big pinch baking soda .
  4. Knead into a soft dough . Add a spoon of ghee and cover the dough for one hour undisturbed .
  5. After an hour , make medium sized balls ought of the dough and roll them into small thick rotis.
  6. Heat oil for deep frying . Drop the rolled rotis into the hot oil one by one and fry .
  7. Bathura puffs up and flip to another side . Cook both sides and remove from the wok . Drain excess
  8. oil. Likewise , fry the rest . Soft puffy yummy Bathuras are ready to serve .
  9. Serve hot with hot chole Masala.
