About Chole masala Recipe

A finger licking healthy wholesome dish .

Chole masala

Ingredients to make Chole masala

  • chickpeas/ Chole Dal 2 cups soaked overnight and parboiled along with the boiled water
  • onions big sized roughly chopped 2
  • tomatoes big sized ripe 3
  • ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chole masala powder 2 teaspoons
  • Aamchoor powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt
  • bay leaves 2
  • cloves 2
  • cardamom pods 4
  • lime juice 1/2 teaspoon

How to make Chole masala

  1. Heat oil in a heavy based pan. Add 2 bay leaves , 2 cloves , 4 cardamoms .
  2. Fry for a minute . Grind 2 big onions and 3 big mushy tomatoes into a smooth paste .
  3. Pour the ground mixture to the oil and sauté for 4 minutes till raw smell leaves . Add 1/2 teaspoon
  4. ginger garlic paste .Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon.Chole masala 2 teaspoons .Aamchoor powder 1/2tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon . Mix all together . Add the soaked par boiled chole dal . Cover and
  6. cook for 15 minutes . The chole gets cooked well . Adjust the consistency as you prefer . Add salt.
  7. Chole masala is ready .Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon lime juice and serve .
