ABOUT Gujarati Kadhi RECIPE

A lovely curry made with soothing ingredients like yogurt, gram flour, curry leaves and ginger.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 cups curd
  2. 3 tbsp gram flour
  3. A pinch of asafoetida
  4. A pinch of jaggery
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. 3 cups water
  7. 1 tbsp clarified butter
  8. 1/4 cumin seeds
  9. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  10. 3 cloves
  11. 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  12. Few curry leaves
  13. 1 whole red chilli
  14. 3 green chillies, chopped

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and mix the curd, gram four, asafoetida, jaggery, salt and water. Mix it well using a whisk.
  2. Heat a pan and pour in the mixture. Keep stirring till the curry thins out.
  3. As the curry thins out, add the seasoning and boil the curry for 5-6 minutes.
  4. To prepare the seasoning, heat the clarified butter and add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, cloves, ginger, green chillies and the red chilli.
  5. Serve it hot in a bowl.
