ABOUT Paneer potato croquette/Aloo Paneer tikki RECIPE

Aloo tikki is a snack originating from the Indian subcontinent; in North Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi preparation, it is made out of boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices. "Aloo" means potato, and the word "tikki" means a small cutlet or croquette

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 large potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  2. 100 grams paneer (or cottage cheese, grated)
  3. 3/4 cup green peas (steamed)
  4. 3/4cup chopped capsicum
  5. 1 large onion (finely chopped
  6. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  7. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  8. 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  9. 1 tablespoon chaat masala powder
  10. 1/2tsp red chilli powder
  11. 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  12. 1tablespoons oil
  13. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, except the oil.
  2. Combine all the ingredients well, while mashing the green peas lightly with your hands as you mix.
  3. Check the salt and spice levels and adjust to suit your taste.
  4. Divide the mixture into equal size portions and shape them into 1/2 inch thick discs.
  5. Heat oil in a fry pan and shallow fry the croquettes 8-10 minutes on each side till golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the croquettes from the pan and drain the excess oil on a kitchen paper towel.
  7. Sprinkle the with chaat masala and chopped coriander.
