About Prawn Malai Curry Recipe

Malai Curries are always loved for its creamy texture and smoothness. And when it is made of prawn then the days menu becomes special. Prawn Malai Curry is mainly cooked in a gravy made of coconut, cream and other masalas.

Prawn Malai Curry

Ingredients to make Prawn Malai Curry

  • prawn 500 grams
  • mustard oil 5 tablespoon
  • salt 1/3 tablespoon
  • turmeric powder -1/3 tablespoon
  • fresh coconut grated 4 tablespoon
  • 1 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1/3 cup of fresh cream
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1/3 tablespoon of red chilli powder
  • Green chilli 1
  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 1 onion chopped

How to make Prawn Malai Curry

  1. Peel and wash prawn and marinate with little salt and turmeric powder.
  2. In a pan heat oil and sauté the chopped onions along with the prawns. cook
  3. Make a paste of coconut, ginger, green chilli, onion and add that to the pan along with red chilli and the prawns.
  4. sauté them for for few minutes
  5. Then add a cup of water and cook for 7-8 minutes.
  6. Add cream to it and cook for 2 more minutes
  7. off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
