Daal Gosht

Ingredients to make Daal Gosht

  • Mutton 300gms
  • Tur daal 3/4cup
  • chana daal 1/2 cup
  • onion 1 large cut lengthwise
  • ginger garlic paste 2-3 tsp
  • Whole spices-
  • peppercorns 5-6
  • clove 5-6
  • Daalchini 2"
  • Green cardamom 5-6
  • Black cardamom 2-3
  • coriander powder 2tsp
  • cumin powder 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 2-3 tsp
  • turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  • Mutton masala powder 2-3 tsp
  • curd 2tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Daal Gosht

  1. Wash and soak both daals together overnight
  2. Cook daals in the pressure cooker till 3whistles
  3. In a pressure cooker heat oil(3-4 tbsp)
  4. Add whole spices
  5. Add onions and saute till brown
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 min
  7. Add coriander powder, cumin powder chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute for 1 min
  8. Add curd and saute till the oil separates
  9. Add mutton pieces and saute for 2-3 min
  10. Add sufficient water and cook till 3whistes
  11. Add daals and salt to cooked meat and mix well
  12. Pressure cook further if required
  13. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
  14. Serve hot with parathas or roti
