ABOUT Chicken masala RECIPE

A gravy based dish made from chicken, coconut and spices.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken breast 400 gms
  2. Salt
  3. lime juice 1tbsp
  4. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  5. Ginger 1 inch piece
  6. Garlic cloves 4
  7. Onions medium sized 3
  8. Tomato small 1
  9. Dry coconut 1 cup
  10. Corriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
  11. Everest chicken masala 1tbsp
  12. Cloves 2
  13. Black pepper 4
  14. Cinnamon 1inch
  15. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  16. Corriander seeds 1 tsp
  17. Tamarind marble size
  18. Cashew nuts 4
  19. Sesame Seeds 1/2 tsp
  20. Water 1 cup
  21. Butter 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken and cut into small pieces
  2. Rub salt and leave it for 10 min
  3. Wash and marinate with lime, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste. Keep aside for half an hour
  4. Chop one onion length wise and fry till brown
  5. Fry the coconut till brown and dry roast the spices separately one by one
  6. Grind together the onion, coconut, spices, cashew nuts and sesame seeds to form a coarse paste
  7. Chop the remaining onions and fry them till translucent. Add chopped corriander leaves
  8. Add Everest chicken masala and fry for a minute
  9. Add tomato and cook till mishy
  10. Add chicken pieces and cover and cook for 5 minutes. Turn the pieces and cook till done
  11. Add the gravy and boil. Add salt to taste and finally add a blob of butter
