Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 400 -450 g Fish Fillet in bite sized pieces
  2. 1 tsp Sumac powder
  3. 1 small onion chopped
  4. 2 big tomatoes chopped
  5. 2 tbsp tomato paste
  6. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  7. 2 tbsp olive oil
  8. 1 tsp ground corriander
  9. 3/4 tsp ground cumin
  10. 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  11. 2 jalapenos chopped (adjust)
  12. 4 garlic cloves minced
  13. 1 tsp dill
  14. 1/3 cup water
  15. Juice of 1/2 lemon
  16. Salt to taste
  17. 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  18. 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves


  1. Mix salt with dry spices ( pepper, turmeric, sumac, dill, cumin and corriander ) well Keep it aside
  2. Using half of above mixture, marinate fish fillet for 30 minutes
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil, add garlic, jalapenos and saute until fragrant. Add chopped onion and saute until translucent
  4. Add remaining spice mixture and mix well. Add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste and saute until tomatoes are tender
  5. Add water, lemon juice and bring to boil. Add fish fillet and gently mix. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until done. Add corriander and mint leaves. Mix well. Garnish with fresh corriander and mint leaves. Serve hot with rice
