ABOUT Jaisalmeri Chane RECIPE

Chickpeas cooked in creamy, yogurt sauce with aromatic spices.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 Cup Black Chana washed, soaked overnight and pressure cooked until soft.
  2. 1 Cup Yogurt
  3. 3 Tablespoons Garm Flour (Besan)
  4. 2 Green Chillies chopped
  5. 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
  6. 1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida ( Hing )
  7. 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  8. 1-1 / 2 Tablespoons red chilli powder
  9. 1 Tablespoon Coriander powder
  10. 1 Tablespoon Cumin powder
  11. 1/2 Tablespoon Aamchur powder
  12. 1 Teaspoon Garam masala
  13. 1 Tablespoon Desi Ghee
  14. Salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine beaten Yogurt + Turmeric Powder + Red Chilli Powder + Coriander Powder + little water and mix well.
  2. In a pan, heat Butter and add Cumin seeds, Chopped Green Chillies & Asafoetida.
  3. Now add Yogurt Mixture and switch gas on low flame.
  4. Stir Continously as yogurt tends to split.
  5. Once Mixture starts boiling, add cooked Black Chana and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  6. On other hand , combine Besan + Aamchur Powder + Cumin Powder + Turmeric Powder + little water and mix well.
  7. Now pour this mixture in boiling gravy and stir continuously.
  8. Gravy will start thickening, once besan is cooked add salt and mix well.
  9. Sprinkle Garama masala and switch off gas.
  10. Jaisalmeri Chane is ready to serve.
